PRESS RELEASE

McMorrow Campaign First to Reach 30,000 Volunteer-Collected Signatures to Qualify for Ballot

MICHIGAN – Michigan Senate Majority Whip and candidate for U.S. Senate Mallory McMorrow announced today that her campaign is the first to collect 30,000 petition signatures entirely through volunteer efforts, without spending a single dollar on paid petition circulators.

The milestone underscores the strength of the grassroots movement behind McMorrow’s campaign and the broad, statewide enthusiasm fueling her growing lead in the Democratic primary.

“From the very beginning, this campaign has been powered by people — friends, neighbors, students, parents, grandparents, workers, and community leaders who know it's time for something different — that this moment requires a Senator who knows how to fight, knows how to win, and knows how to deliver,” McMorrow said. “And we did it entirely through volunteers… hundreds of hard-working volunteers who made this possible. That kind of energy can’t be bought — it has to be earned, and I will continue to earn it every day.”

To qualify for the ballot, candidates must collect at least 15,000 valid signatures (and a maximum of 30,000), including a minimum of 100 signatures in at least seven of Michigan’s 13 congressional districts. McMorrow’s campaign not only doubled the required total but also exceeded the geographic threshold – collecting more than 500 signatures in all 13 congressional districts across the state, and from each of Michigan’s 83 counties.

McMorrow has continued to lead the field in grassroots fundraising, raising more money in her campaign from small-dollar donors than both of her opponents combined.
