Mallory McMorrow for U.S. Senate

PRESS RELEASE

“McMorrow touts volunteer push to reach 30K petition signatures in U.S. Senate race”

MICHIGAN — Today, Michigan Advance reported that Senate Majority Whip and U.S. Senate candidate Mallory McMorrow is the first candidate to collect 30,000 signatures, surpassing her opponents entirely through volunteer efforts.

Key Excerpts:

McMorrow  “First out of the gate”

“On Monday, McMorrow, a state senator from Royal Oak, was the first out of the gate on the Democratic side of the aisle to announce that her campaign reached the 30,000 signature threshold. McMorrow also celebrated the fact that her campaign did so without spending a dollar on paid petition circulators, relying on a network of volunteers instead.

“The campaign said the milestone underscores her growing momentum in the race, which is currently tied per the most recent polling. The statistical three-way tie in the Democratic U.S. Senate primary is most interesting for McMorrow because she was initially polling in third place at the outset of the contest.”

McMorrow Doubles Required Minimum

“State election law also requires that a campaign must also submit a minimum of 100 signatures collected from at least seven of Michigan’s 13 congressional districts.

“McMorrow’s campaign said that it not only doubled that required congressional district minimum, it also exceeded the entire geographic threshold, collecting more than 500 signatures in all 13 congressional districts and from each of the state’s 83 counties."
