Michigan Senate Majority Leader Winnie Brinks Endorses Mallory McMorrow for U.S. Senate

GRAND RAPIDS, MI – Today, Michigan Senate Majority Leader Winnie Brinks announced her endorsement of Michigan Senate Majority Whip Mallory McMorrow in her campaign for U.S. Senate. Community leaders and over 200 supporters joined McMorrow and Brinks at Brewery Vivant in Grand Rapids for the announcement and open Q&A.

“The thing I hear most is ‘I love Mallory McMorrow because I can see that she cares about me, she can relate to me.’” said Majority Leader Brinks. “So, that is the thing that I think we need most in… Washington DC. Somebody who understands that and who can get things done –– and to do it because they know every single person in our community deserves representation from somebody who cares about them and values them.”

“What the Michigan Senate has accomplished would make Washington blush,” McMorrow said, addressing the crowd. “None of that would be possible without the stoic, fierce, and never-to-be-underestimated leadership of Winnie Brinks.”

“We are allowed to feel hope and joy and optimism,” McMorrow continued, addressing the packed brewery. “And I feel that in the room today. Thank you for showing up.”

Brinks is the highest-ranking state elected official to endorse a candidate in the Democratic primary for Michigan’s open U.S. Senate seat.
