PRESS RELEASE

Michigan Democratic Senate Primary “Up in the Air”

MICHIGAN — This morning, POLITICO published results from the first representative survey of likely Democratic primary voters in Michigan’s US Senate race. The survey, conducted by Global Strategy Group, shows the primary is “up in the air.”

Read the full survey memo from Global Strategy Group online here.

  • The survey shows Haley Stevens at 24%, Mallory McMorrow at 20%, Abdul El-Sayed at 15%, and Joe Tate at 4% with 37% undecided. The space between Stevens and McMorrow is within the margin of error with 14 months before the August 2026 primary election.

  • Among the 20% of primary voters who know both Mallory and Haley, Mallory holds a staggering 23-point lead.

In their survey memo, widely respected polling firm Global Strategy Group writes:

  • “Mallory McMorrow is in a strong position at the outset of this race. Despite never running a statewide campaign like Abdul El-Sayed or spending millions of dollars on paid media like Haley Stevens, McMorrow is already within the margin of error 14 months before the August 2026 primary election” [...]

  • “McMorrow is incredibly well liked among those who know her – both her ratio of favorability to unfavorability and her ratio of strong favorability to name ID are significantly stronger than any of the other candidates.”
