U.S. Senator Elizabeth Warren Endorses Mallory McMorrow in Michigan’s U.S. Senate Race
MICHIGAN — Today, Michigan Senate Majority Whip and candidate for U.S. Senate Mallory McMorrow received the endorsement of U.S. Senator Elizabeth Warren, a leading advocate in the U.S. Senate for ridding corporate influence from our politics, building grassroots movements, and tackling corruption to rebuild our economy and make life affordable.
“I remember first calling Michigan State Senator McMorrow after she flipped a Republican-held seat in 2018, and I was immediately inspired by her ideas, her plans, and her fight to make a real difference,” said Senator Warren. “Mallory is both a fighter and a winner, and I’m proud to endorse her because she’s the proven leader Michigan needs in the United States Senate. For generations now, working families have been squeezed by out of control costs like housing and child care, and it’s time to elect a Democrat with a backbone like Mallory.”
“Senator Warren taught me something I carry with me every day: you don't win alone – you build something bigger than yourself,” said Senator McMorrow. “That’s what this campaign is about, and her endorsement is a reflection of every volunteer, donor, and neighbor who has powered this movement from day one. Neither of us ran for office because we always wanted to be senators. We ran because we saw what needed fixing and knew somebody needed to do it. That's the fight we're taking to Washington.”
Senator Warren is the latest to join a growing group of U.S. Senators backing McMorrow in Michigan’s Senate primary. With support from Senators Chris Murphy, Martin Heinrich, Peter Welch and now Warren, McMorrow boasts more endorsements from sitting U.S. Senators than any other candidate in the race, alongside dozens of endorsements from state and local officials from every corner of Michigan.
McMorrow has continued to lead the field in grassroots fundraising, raising more money in her campaign from small-dollar donors than both of her opponents combined.
